Resources for Mr. Gautschi's El Dorado High School Students

Chugging Along

By the change in the weather, it is obvious that autumn has fallen. With the first week of October comes the end of the first quarter. You will be receiving your grades within the next two weeks; if you feel as though there is a discrepency in your grade please come see me ASAP. If you do not like the grade you earned, make the time to come to tutorial on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 to make up missing work. Remember that you only have a two week window to complete missing assignments, and that it is your responsibility to get work done that you have yet to complete. Hold on tight, we only have half of the first semester left to go!

Getting Down to Business

The first two weeks of class are over and week three brings us into the full swing of things. By now, we should all have a good understanding of the daily processes/procedures as well as how to conduct ourselves such that we keep the class and lab safe and hospitable.
Physics will begin the measuring of the volume of the classroom while becoming familiar with forces and motion. APES will delve into the various economic, political, and environmental ethic differences found around the world. CalNR will begin putting together their resources of California project and take a trip to the East Campus to see the changes that have occurred over the summer.
Week Three gets us up to speed for what the rest of the year has in store for us. A quick reminder, LATE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED; you are required to get your work completed and turned in on the date it is due, at the beginning of the class. If you feel you need more time on an assignment, it is your responsibility to see me before the day it is due and discuss your necessary timeline of completion.

Welcome Back Cougars!

Day one went great! I was really excited to see so many eager faces, ready to learn and get to work. Each class has its own character with unique individuals that I’ve no doubt are going to make this year one to remember.

Tomorrow, be prepared to get your book and go straight to work. APES classes will start into their nations reports while Physics will practice using measurment, tables, and the metric system to better organize collected data and keep track of Sig-Figs. CAL 1 will launch into their first project researching the various regions of Califonia and the Natural Resources found therein.

Hold on tight everybody, we’re off and running!!

The 2010-2011 school year is just on the horizon! If you are enrolled in APES, be sure to finish your summer homework packet, you will be greatly pleased when the first test comes around (hint, hint!).  Physics will be jumping right in with an exciting project that illustrates Newton’s 3 Laws of motion while NR CAL 1 will be designing their first semester project at the East Campus site. I hope that you had a well earned summer of relaxation and rest and are now ready to start an exciting year. I am looking forward to meeting you the first week and getting right to work!
